John Anderson Hire are very proud to display the Royal Warrant of Appointment on our website as we supply toilet hire at events which the Royal family attend. We were delighted to attend the Royal Warrant Luncheon at the London Hilton Hotel in Park Lane in September 2018. Although the Queen didn’t attend the lunch in person a message of thanks was presented.

According to the Daily Mail the Queen grants 634 Royal Warrants, the Duke of Edinburgh grants 32 and the Prince of Wales grants 165. The Royal Warrant of Appointment is given to companies who supply the Royal Household. Most of the companies who have a Royal Warrant are UK companies. Although many suppliers are located nationwide most are based in the South East as they are located close to the main Royal residences in London, Berkshire and Norfolk. The list of companies invited to the Royal Warrant Holders luncheon included companies in a variety of  sectors; food and drink, homes and household goods, clothing and accessories, horticulture and gardening services.

The history of Royal Warrant Holders

Although the Royal Warrant Holders Association was only formed in 1840 the Royal Warrant started in medieval times. Back then the monarch decided who would gain Royal favour and they picked the best tradespeople. By the 15th century the Royal Warrant of Appointment was introduced and it was the job of the Lord Chamberlain, who was head of the Royal Household to appoint tradespeople.

Neil Younger, Director, John Anderson Hire, St Albans, Hertfordshire said:

‘The John Anderson Hire team were delighted to be invited to the London Hilton for the Royal Warrant Holders luncheon where we joined many of the other 740 Royal Warrant Holders who supply the Royal Households.  To gain a Royal Warrant a company must have been supplying the Royal Household for a minimum of five years. John Anderson Hire has had their warrant for over five years. We supply toilet hire to many events that members of the Royal Family attend, including The Remembrance Day Procession, Royal Ascot and Windsor Castle open days. We often supply these events with VIP and luxury toilet hire units. With excess of 100 VIP toilet units to hire out no event is too big or too small. We are used to providing toilet hire for large scale events where security is a major consideration. Our toilet hire team is used to the security process required and anyone working on the event is always vetted by the Royal Parks security team.’
